Fitz is a highly experienced management and marketing professional and for over 20 years has held frontline and senior management positions within the Community Services sector in South Africa and Australia. Fitz has a Masters Degree in Business Administration and currently owns and manages a communications business in Canning Vale.


Fitz is an active community member with a passion for seeing people with disability access full and meaningful lives. Thus Fitz has been volunteering on SMP's Board of Directors for 8 years and currently provides his expertise to strengthen and direct the sound governance of SMP as Chairman.

Kerry is a qualified practicing Insurance Broker with over 35 years' experience in the insurance industry. Furthermore, Kerry's experience has equipped her with a sound understanding and knowledge of the community services, education and not for profit sectors.


Kerry has been involved with SMP since 1997 and was invited to join the Board of Directors in 2008. Kerry uses her experience and intimate knowledge of SMP and the sector to support SMP's governance and planning.

Over the past 22 years Rob has developed substantial experience within the management and sales management disciplines through his employment and involvement with the mobile plant and equipment industries.


Rob has been volunteering on SMP's Board of Directors for 12 years including as Chairman. Rob provides his sales and management expertise to support and guide the sound governance of the agency.

Phil is the Director and owner of a boutique fleet management company specialising in the charity and not for profit sector. He has a degree in Combined Mathematics and Statistics and has worked in the fleet management industry for more than 15 years. Phil has an extensive background in the finance industry, working with major financial institutions in Australia and the UK.


Phil's management expertise combined with his extensive knowledge of the not for profit sector places him in an excellent position to assist SMP's sound governance.

Eddie is a professional facilitator and trainer who part owns an international training and development business. Eddie provides training and development programs to a variety of organisations, from small business to multi-national corporations and government entities. 


As an active community member Eddie highly appreciates the opportunity to volunteer his expertise to strengthen the supports and services SMP provides to people with disability living in his community. Eddie has been involved with SMP for over 12 years.

Meet our Directors

We are a not for profit, incorporated association and have been providing quality services to people living with disability in the southern metropolitan regions of Perth since December 1994. 


Our services assist people with disability to achieve their personal life goals by facilitating greater access to the community and the development of their life, work and independent living skills.


SMP is governed by an elected Board of Directors. 

With more than 20 years’ experience in senior management Frances provides a range of services and support to organisations that need to develop, update and refine their Strategic, Business, Workforce Development and Marketing Plans. She supports the implementation and evaluation of planning processes assisting organisations to ensure they have the right people, skills and systems in place to be an effective operation.
Frances highlights the reason she was keen to join the SMP Board was because it gave her the opportunity to support a not for profit organisation that is providing services to people with disabilities. In addition she is keen to contribute back into the community and sees her role on the Board as a way to achieve this.​

Jo-Anne is a qualified accountant who has worked in the Accounting and Finance sector for the past 20 years in varying roles across a range of industries. The most recent being Financial Controller for Cardno BEC; a position she held for 8 years before becoming a full time mother. Jo-Anne has a Bachelor of Commerce as well as a Graduate Diploma of Education.
Jo-Anne has a great sense of community spirit and a willingness to help others; with strong financial skills Jo-Anne is a valuable contribution to the SMP board in maintaining integrity and sound governance.

Phil is the father of a 27yr old daughter who lives with disability. Phil is committed to ensuring and providing opportunities for people of all abilities. His lived experience provides a clear and deep insight into the needs and interests of people living with disability and their families.
Coupled with his strong business acumen, Phil’s experience and perspective is a valuable asset to SMP’s governance and strategic planning. He considers his position on SMP’s Board of Directors as an opportunity to ensure the interests of people with disability are continuously the driving force behind SMP’s operations.

Dean is the founder and CEO of Music Rocks Australia, one of W.A.’s leading disability service providers, delivering inclusive music programs with life-changing outcomes for thousands of children and adults of all abilities. 
He holds Bachelor degrees in Education (Music), Music Performance (Jazz) and Applied Chemistry and initiated the Contemporary Music Department for the Department of Education and Training in Western Australia. Dean brings enthusiasm and commitment in his pledge for improved opportunity and recognition for people with a disability.

Suresh has an accountant’s background having graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce and Masters in Business Administration, both from University of Western Australia. After working at Australian Taxation Office in WA and Canberra he joined some of his classmates from his Masters degree and ran a successful financial planning business. A number of years later Suresh moved to the community services sector where he has applied his expertise and developed a strong, well reputed advocacy role working in executive positions across multicultural and health related services.


Through his exceptional passion for community, specifically in relation to multicultural interests and disability, combined with his expansive knowledge and experience Suresh is able to secure SMP’s position as a provider of high quality services for all people with disability. His leadership will ensure SMP’s sustainability as the industry transitions to the new service model, WA National Disability Insurance Scheme (WA NDIS).
